Smoked Salmon Pasta Recipe: A Luxurious and Easy Dinner Dish

Smoked salmon pasta is a luxurious and flavorful dish that’s surprisingly easy to make. The smoky, rich salmon pairs beautifully with a creamy sauce and pasta, making it perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a special occasion. Here’s a simple recipe for smoked salmon pasta.

Smoked Salmon Pasta Recipe

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta (such as fettuccine, linguine, or penne)
  • 6 ounces smoked salmon (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill (chopped)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

2. Prepare the Sauce

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.

3. Add the Cream and Peas

  1. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the peas and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they are tender (if using fresh peas) or warmed through (if using frozen peas).

4. Incorporate the Smoked Salmon

  1. Add the smoked salmon pieces to the skillet and gently stir. Cook for about 1-2 minutes to heat the salmon through.

5. Finish the Sauce

  1. Add the grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and lemon zest to the skillet. Stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

6. Combine with Pasta

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat it with the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a little of the reserved pasta water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.

7. Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle the chopped fresh dill over the pasta and toss gently to combine. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese if desired.

Tips

  • Add Extra Veggies: Incorporate vegetables like spinach, cherry tomatoes, or asparagus for added flavor and nutrition.
  • Make it Spicy: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce for a spicy kick.
  • Swap the Pasta: Use whole wheat pasta or gluten-free pasta to suit your dietary needs.
